MUSICAL ACTIVITIES

At the heart of the Gateshead’s music community The Soundroom delivers projects and workshops for people of all ages and backgrounds. Our workshops enable people to develop new skills and interests whilst sharing the love of music and visual arts with fellow community members and friends.

The Soundroom Original Music Café

Drop-in live music café club is held twice weekly on Monday & Thursdays. 1-3 pm.

Although sessions are open to all, they tend to be frequented by visitors with learning disabilities. Themed sessions are held at certain times of the year such as Easter, Summer, Halloween, Christmas at the request of participants. Clients are very keen to participate in singing, often bringing in their own requests, which at times have put the volunteer band ‘on the spot’ but no request is turned down. They're willing to give anything a go to keep our music-loving guests entertained!

Suggested donation £3, carers free. Café serving low-cost refreshments and snacks.

*please do get in touch if you are interested in volunteering with The Soundroom band
